Amit Rai-directed Ohh My Dog turned out to be a feel-good surprise for fans in the theatres this week. The film arrived in theatres on August 7, with paid previews on August 6, and received good reviews from the audience and the critics alike, praising the presentation of the emotional connection between humans and dogs. However, despite the good response, the film opened at the box office on a decent note.

According to the Sacnilk data, on day 1 (First Friday), the canine drama recorded 0.85 crore, i.e 85 lakhs net, across 844 shows with just 20 percent occupancy.

The Pankaj Tripathi starrer witnessed 19.12 percent occupancy in theatres overall, among which the morning shows recorded the lowest occupancy of just 6.92 percent. In comparison, it rose in the afternoon with 13.85 percent, and the evening shows saw 15.62 percent occupancy, with the highest occupancy during the nighttime with 29.15 percent.

Amid competition from blockbusters like Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Odyssey, and Jana Nayagan, the simple film with plenty of four-legged stars and child actor Maahi Rai managed to perform decently, though not very impressively.
