Kangana Ranaut is definitely high on spirits when it comes to gearing up for her next ‘Panga’. She’s also looking all hunky-dory to play the role of Jayalalitha in ‘Thalaivi’. And now, the director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari is attempting what she describes as a “Slice of life Sports drama”, revolving around a 30-something protagonist who’s a professional Kabaddi player. Panga, translates as ‘to mess with’, and the director insists the word will take on a new meaning after the film releases. When asked to comment a line or two about the film, she says and we quote –

“We all are stuck in a rut; life is about getting a job, getting married and having kids. We have forgotten there is a life beyond all this. Panga is about taking up a challenge, we have humanized the term,”

Expressing that the film talks about the role of a family in making a person’s dream come true, she adds,

‘ While being a mother and daughter, focusing on personal goals becomes difficult. At such times, my family comes to my rescue,” smiles the director who left a cushy job and a high flying career in advertising to explore film-making.

.The film also stars Richa Chadda and Neena Gupta in pivotal roles and is slated to release on January 24, 2020. For more such updates, stay tuned to IWMBuzz.com
