Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the situational-comedy Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is getting stronger with each passing day at the box office. And now, in a rare and impressive trend, the film collected a good 4.41 crore on its first Tuesday (day 5), further strengthening the collection. What makes the Tuesday performance remarkable is that the film surprisingly outperformed its opening Friday collection, which was 4.38 crore. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Renu Ravi Chopra under the banners T-Series Films and B R Studios.
Ayushmann Khurrana, Wamiqa Gabbi, Rakul Preet Singh, and Sara Ali Khan starrer’s upward trajectory over the weekdays is unusual, indicating increasing popularity, audience interest, and acceptance for the film.
Not just this, the Tuesday collection shows a positive trend with the impressive jump in ticket sales. The film sold 1 lakh more tickets on Tuesday than on Monday, indicating a rise in footfalls rather than the usual weekday downward trend.
Over the first weekend, the film saw a good hike with 6.67 crore on Saturday (day 2) and 9.06 crore on Sunday (day 3), while the Monday (day 4) collection was stable with 3.67 crore collection, and the film rose on Tuesday, beating the first Friday (day 1) haul. The total net box office now stands at 28.19 crore.
A strong word of mouth, family appeal, natural comedy, an entertaining narrative, and strong performances by the stars seem to favor the film heavily. What’s unusual is the Tuesday collection beating the opening Friday day haul, which is considered a rare box office phenomenon, that too in the first week of release. The impressive jump points to the film’s steady momentum.
