The movie’s storyline focuses on Bloody Mary once she has given up her pirating ways and she is trying to live a peaceful life. Still, her old crew with revenge and treachery as their motives resurfaces and she is forced again to use her old ways. The stakes become very personal and she puts her child’s life at risk while also facing the ghosts of her past. The devotion of the actress to the character is very clear as she has described her role as “Mother. Protector. Pirate,” highlighting, therefore, the emotional complexity that is the core of the film.

One of the factors that make The Bluff different from the pirate movies is its gritty realism. The film is going to offer a raw, R-rated portrayal of piracy that very clearly cuts off the romanticism that has been linked to the genre. The actress not just dived but also drowned herself in the ocean of historical research and took the likes of Grace O’Malley as the influences to the tune of the authenticity of her portrayal. The pictures of the film’s visuals, which can be seen in the first-look images, are already giving a glimpse of the fire that will be lighting up in the theatres, as these visuals include extremely thrilling sword fights, dramatic sea battles, and a blood-soaked Chopra in the midst of mid-air combat, all hinting at the visceral action that the viewers are going to see.

The film’s cast includes Karl Urban as Captain Connor, the main opposition character, which will increase the film’s narrative depth and tension. The Bluff is directed by Frank E. Flowers and is a production of the Russo Brothers’ AGBO Studios, thus uniting great talent both in front of and behind the camera.
