Ram Gopal Varma, the well-known and celebrated Indian filmmaker, director, producer, and screenwriter, has given us several good films. And yet again, he is in headlines not for sharing his opinion about the US-ISRAEL-IRAN conflict but about his personal life. In a recent interview the filmmaker spilled the beans on his failed marriage highlighted in the third day after his marriage he knew it was going to fail.

In a recent interview with Vickey Lalwani on his podcast, Ram Gopal Varma made a shocking confession about his marriage. He also discussed marriages and love in today’s time, highlighting that he thinks the idea of marriage may vanish in the coming years. When asked if he ever felt like getting married again, filmmaker Ram said, “No, not ever.”

And when asked if the thought of marrying again never crossed his mind, Ram said, “No, I think my marriage failed at least, I knew it was going to fail on the third day after marriage.” He further emphasized that the third day was a mistake, and then it took four years to separate, or some years, and to officially separate.

Explaining his view and why marriages fail, “Because I think in marriage, most of the time, what happens is they draw pictures of each other, both in love and marriage. Only when they marry, they realize they were just imaginary and the reality is different.”

And when asked who realised the reality is different in his marriage, Ram shared it was him in his case, but it depends on other cases.

Ram Gopal Varma was married to Ratna in the late 1980s, and they later divorced. The couple has a daughter named Revathi, who is a classical dancer.
