Months have passed, the 8-hour debate still remains constant, thanks to Deepika Padukone for nurturing the thoughts and needs that surround working hours—especially for women who are mothers, or have just embraced motherhood. Healthy workplaces matter, for one’s well-being, and motivating them to work better and more efficiently.

However, every perspective comes with different interpretations, opinions and debacles. And now continuing on the row, we recently came across Rana Daggubati, Dulquer Salmaan along with other luminaries from the industry reacting to the 8-hour shift row, while talking to The Hollywood Reporter.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Rana Daggubati said, “This is not a job; it’s a lifestyle. Each film will ask for something else. It’s not a factory. We could sit for eight hours and the best scene comes out, or sit for fifty and nothing comes out,” and further adding to it, he said, “Unless the top brass understands that everyone is involved in creating one story, it doesn’t trickle down,” as India Today quotes.

Dulquer Salmaan also spoke on the incident, stating, “In Malayalam, you just keep going. They clap while they say pack up because nobody knows when it’s going to end.” Adding that the team behind it, focusing on the efficiency of the work, often lead to longer days.

The debacle sparked post Deepika Padukone exited Spirit and Kalki sequel, given long working hours. She got mixed reactions from the industry, with several actors siding with it, and many voicing their opinions against it.
