The conflict between Ranveer Singh and Excel Entertainment over Don 3 has escalated further, as the mediation process has led to damaging accusations. The actor accused producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of trying to switch his role with Hrithik Roshan, but they approached him again after the success of Dhurandhar.
Ranveer apparently informed the Producers Guild of India that Excel Entertainment intended to cast Hrithik Roshan even though they had no script available. He alleged they only returned to him to “capitalise on his momentum” after Dhurandhar’s massive box-office performance. The actor labelled the production house as “unprofessional” because they maintained an incomplete script while refusing to accept his creative input and additional plot ideas.
The conflict has escalated into a significant financial dispute, as Excel Entertainment demands that Ranveer pay them ₹40 crore for his exit in December 2025. The production house claims it suffered substantial losses because its departure disrupted its extensive investments in pre-production, script development, scheduling, and branding.
Ranveer claims he departed because he felt creative dissatisfaction, while he challenges the request for compensation. The Producers Guild of India has become involved in the dispute to mediate between the two sides through meetings, which have been attended by important figures like Aamir Khan and Siddharth Roy Kapur. The two parties failed to achieve an agreement after their two-hour meeting last Friday because they continued to uphold their original positions.
Farhan Akhtar has decided to halt all work on Don 3 because of the standstill and has chosen to work on his previously postponed project, Jee Le Zaraa. Ranveer prepares for the release of Dhurandhar 2, which is scheduled to premiere on March 19 2026.
