Raza Murad, the paternal first cousin of veteran Bollywood actress Zeenat Aman, opened up in a candid conversation with journalist Vickey Lalwani about the famous actress’s life. He recalled painful memories surrounding Zeenat’s difficult experiences, including an injury to her eye, while shedding light on the personal struggles that remained away from the spotlight.

When asked to share childhood memories with Zeenat Aman, as he grew up with her, Raza said Zeenat’s father, Amanullah Khan, and his mother were like brother and sister. He fondly remembered Zeenat by her pet name, “Babusha,” but revealed that her early years were overshadowed by family instability.

Raza then opened up about past trauma, revealing that Zeenat Aman’s parents got separated, and the effects of a broken home did affect the actress. He emphasized that, despite being loved by her father, she spent a lonely childhood moving between parents before ultimately being sent to a boarding school in Panchgani.

Raza also addressed the infamous and tragic chapter of Zeenat’s brief 1978 marriage to actor Sanjay Khan. The relationship culminated in a horrific public assault inside a luxury hotel in Colaba, Mumbai. Raza confirmed the fight, claiming Zeenat suffered an eye injury.

Detailing the incident, Raza revealed that Zeenat rushed from Lonavala that day, and there she ended up in a confrontation with Sanjay, leading to the catastrophic right-eye injury that altered the actress’s appearance for the rest of her life.
