Rukmini Maitra got us all awed with her Binodini earlier. However, the recently released film Hati Hati Paa Paa could not hit the right chord. It carried emotions, sentiments and intent, but then got carried away. The film was released on 28th November and is getting mixed reviews so far. What we could infer from it is that the script was earnest, propelling warmth and empathy—but then it brought in too many aspects of life into a single nuance, eventually losing its hold.

The film weaves around the lives of a father-daughter duo, Deepak and Mou. They are living through their own versions of lives, while still coping with the mother’s loss. Deepak is fond of gardening and tries to balance moments out for his beloved daughter. While Mou also tries to keep everything in check, taking care of her ageing father. The film subtly teaches us about the duties and responsibilities that every relationship holds.

Rukmini Maitra Starrer Hati Hati Paa Paa: Has Intent, Lacks Impact 978310

The narrative followed a sharp, stable path; however, at times, its incoherence prevented it from realising its full potential. Rukmini did her part well, but somewhere her emotions got sabotaged and stuck in the process. The supporting cast shouldered the script well, but because of a lack of narrative refinement, the stellar cast could not save it from hitting the bottom line —which is—Hati Hati Paa Paa: Has Intent, Lacks Impact.
