When news first got out that Salman Khan’s next Eid release would be Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah, fans were suitably impressed and excited. After all, the coming together of these two stalwarts of the Hindi film industry has given us gems such as Khamoshi and Hum Dil De ChukeSanam.

Salman’s fresh pairing with Alia Bhatt had also been received with much enthusiasm by fans of the duo. As for Alia herself, she was overjoyed at the prospect of having her dream of working with both Salman and Sanjay coming true.

However, the hopes of everyone have now come to nought with this latest development on the movie’s front. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production house has announced in a post on Twitter that Inshallah has been shelved. No reasons have been given for the same.

Interestingly, the movie was shelved just a couple of days before it was to go on the floors. Apparently, even the sets, of a song sequence featuring Alia Bhatt, had been erected at Mehboob Studios.

Salman Khan has also posted an intriguing message on Twitter, hinting that even though Inshallah has been shelved, he will still keep his date with Eid. “Itna mat sochna mere baare mein, Dil mein aata hoon…aur Eid pe bhi,” is what he tweeted, much to his fans’ delight.

As per reports, there were several creative differences between Salman and Sanjay, subsequent to which the two mutually decided, in the best interests of all, to not go ahead with the film.

Here are the tweets from Salman Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production house.

While all speculation on the true reasons for the shelving of Inshallah is just that – speculation, fans of both Salman and Sanjay hope that they get together soon enough and create another memorable movie for them to watch and love.
