Shah Rukh Khan, the Badshah of Bollywood, with his last films, Pathaan and Jawan, ruled not just hearts but also the box office. And now the actor is all set to return after a long 3-year break with his upcoming film, King, raising excitement among fans. Amid the buzz, a latest update has surfaced online claiming that this will be Shah Rukh’s most expensive film.

According to reports from Bollywood Hungama, King will become the most expensive film of Shah Rukh Khan’s career, surpassing his biggest hits, Jawan (400 crore) and Pathaan (350 crore).

According to the news portal’s source, Shah Rukh Khan believes in delivering an uncompromised product to the audience. It also emphasized that the film started as an action thriller, but with Shah Rukh and Siddharth’s ambition, it has become a tentpole action thriller, and the audience will also get to witness some of the biggest action sequences with King.

The source further revealed the film’s big budget, citing it at around 450 crore, excluding print and publicity, as well as Shah Rukh Khan’s acting fees.

It explained that all expenses have been incurred to ensure an uncompromised cinematic experience for viewers, and every penny can be seen on screen in a new Shah Rukh experience.

Shah Rukh Khan’s King went on floors in May 2025, and the shooting is likely to wrap up around August 2026. With 1 year and 3 months of shooting, the film has been shot across the world for more than 150 days with some of the biggest stunt teams in the world, making it a grand-scale film already. The film, produced by Red Chilies Entertainment, will also handle the VFX.

In contrast, director Siddharth Anand’s latest social media activity indirectly rejects these claims, as he wrote on his X handle, “False.” And netizens linked this to the viral claims about the big budget, saying it’s his way of denying the rumors. However, an official statement is still awaited.
