Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan is turning out to be quite a ladies’ special this season.
It was Ananya Pandey-Sara Ali Khan on that controversial couch last week. This week on Thursday it is Alia Bhatt and her sister-in-law Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Sofa, so good.
Next week on November 23, it is two more ladies, this time , both screen queens bonded by blood and talent. We are talking about Kajol and her cousin Rani Mukerji who will be sharing the couch and many family anecdotes with Karan Johar.
This , we have to see.
The Sara-Ananya episode of Koffee With Karan was filled with angst: the viewers’ angst , that is. We were left wondering about how to solve the demoniacal dilemmas faced by these poor hapless ladies. Problems like, is blue lipstick relatable or not…and are men cry babies after four drinks???
Sorting my head through these existential problems was not easy. How do I know about blue lipstick, or messy hair?
The three participants on this episode knew all the answers. In fact there were so many hidden jokes among the trio, that audiences felt like outsiders leaning into a very private conversation. Sara Ali Khan who talks so loudly and incessantly it feels like a marathon meltdown when she is around, dropped broad hints about Ananya Pandey’s love life, like, “How are you managing your nights…who is your night manager?” etc.
For those who came in late, or do not follow celeb-shenanigans on Instagram: Ms Pandey is dating Aditya Roy Kapoor who played the title role in The Night Manager. Get it? When it comes to Karan’s show,there is no kalank in playing mind games and driving audiences gumrah with red herrings.
