South Korean actor Lee Sang-bo was found dead at his home in Pyeongtaek on the afternoon of Thursday, March 26, 2026. Although some sources report his age as 45 he died at the age of 44 because different methods of calculating his birth date produced different results. The Pyeongtaek Police Station in Gyeonggi Province reports that investigators currently have no evidence of criminal activity or foul play. A family member discovered Lee’s deceased body at approximately 12:40 PM KST. His agency, Korea Management Group KMG confirmed his passing and requested privacy for his family.
Lee Sang-bo had recently been working on reviving his career through his 2025 exclusive contract with KMG and the opening of a meat restaurant in Pyeongtaek. The observers found that his social media accounts had been deleted because he had removed all his posts before his death became public.
The actor faced public outrage in 2022 after authorities falsely accused him of drug abuse. Lee was later exonerated after medical tests revealed that his behaviour had been the result of prescribed antidepressants and tranquillisers which he had taken following the tragic loss of his parents and older sister.
