As the release date of Bollywood’s much-awaited spectacle film Ramayana nears, excitement is rising. While the film has already fascinated audiences with its grand scale, impressive VFX, larger-than-life portrayal, and characters, a major detail has now surfaced that could make the mythological film India’s biggest fire sequence.
Stunt expert Rishabh Tyagi, in a viral video online, revealed that the team spent nearly 2 months filming an elaborate fire sequence featuring Lord Hanuman, played by Sunny Deol. The fire sequence will show Lord Hanuman setting Lanka on fire with his tail.
According to Tyagi, given the grand spectacle, he thinks that the sequence could rank among the biggest fire stunts ever attempted in Indian cinema. Speaking about the scale of production, in a video he said, “We are working on a frame in Ramayana, where Hanumanji goes to Lanka. That is by far the biggest fire sequence of my life, and probably in Indian cinema too. It took nearly two months to shoot the sequence and was one of the most high-tech sequences ever shot.”
Mounted on a reported budget of 4000 crore, Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana is one of the biggest Bollywood films in recent years. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, Rakul Preet Singh, Lara Dutta and others in key roles. The film Ramayana: Part 1 is set to release this Diwali.
