Tahir Raj Bhasin is one of the finest and most talented young actors that we have in the Hindi film industry. When he made his acting debut as an antagonist alongside Rani Mukerji in the movie Mardaani way back in the year 2014, he became an overnight sensation. It’s never really easy to make an impact and grab eyeballs when you are sharing screen space with someone like Rani Mukerji’s stature. However, Tahir did it wonderfully and it opened up many doors of opportunity for the young star and movies like Force 2 and Manto certainly helped the cause. He’s all set to next make an impact in the movie 83 followed by Taapsee Pannu starrer Loop Lapeta.

Tahir’s last movie release was Chhichhore which was also the last movie late actor Sushant Singh Rajput shot before his unfortunate demise. Ahead of his death anniversary, when we at IWMBuzz engaged in a candid conversation with Tahir and asked him about his fond memories of SSR, an emotional Tahir was quoted as saying,

“I always saw Sushant as someone extremely inspirational. He was a source of great energy. The fact that someone could come with dreams in the city of Mumbai and first do well as a dancer and then an actor on TV and then become a popular movie actor who’s entirely self-made was extremely motivating. He stood for the ‘Big Mumbai Dream’. It was my great fortune that the last film which he shot ie. Chhichhore, I got to spend a lot of time with him as Derek & Anni. All thanks to that process, I got to learn and imbibe a lot from him as to what helped him in that journey. I am also extremely fortunate that I was a part of a film like Chhichhore that won a National Award and I really hope that is the legacy he is remembered for.”

He further added,

“I feel one shouldn’t forget that as a star in his phase of the career where there were possibly 15 scripts on his table, he chose to lend his name for a film like Chhichhore which was a film about education. It was a film that taught you the spirit of ‘never giving up’ and not letting society call you a ‘loser’. I really wish these are the aspects he gets remembered for in the coming years.”

Here’s wishing Tahir all the best for all his upcoming endeavours. Let us know your views in the comments below and for more updates, stay tuned to IWMBuzz.com
