In the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thalapathy Vijay and his wife Sangeetha’s divorce case, a major development takes place. As per reports, Sangeetha on Friday, August 7, 2026, has withdrawn the divorce petition filed earlier in 2026 before a family court in Chengalpattu, near Chennai.
Reportedly, Sangeetha appeared in court via video call and confirmed that she does not wish to proceed with the divorce case further. Despite her decision to back out, the court has given her a heads-up to request and disposed of the case as withdrawn.
As per the court orders, Sangeetha filed the withdrawal petition in the family court, where the court recorded her statement given through the video call, granted her allowance, and even gave her the liberty to file the case again if required in the future.
What’s The Matter
Earlier on February 24, 2026, Sangeetha initiated a divorce petition, sending shockwaves across the country. She alleged irreconcilable differences, emotional ignorance, mental cruelty, etc among other reasons to end her marriage.
And after months of speculations, rumors, and buzz, Sangeetha has now withdrawn the case, serving as a relief for many.
When Sangeetha, in her court filings, mentioned an underlying personal rift and an alleged extramarital affair, fans started to speculate about Trisha Krishnan and Vijay’s bond, leading to dating rumors. However, the two have never stated anything on this matter.
