Vishal Krishna whose recent hits have placed him among the top-ranking Tamil actors, is back in the theatres with Chakra.

“And this time we have a Hindi version as well, apart from the Tamil and Telugu versions. This makes Chakra my Hindi debut. I am most excited about reaching out into a new audience. Hopefully they will give me the same love as the South audience,” says Vishal whose earlier release Ayogya ,a remake of Puri Jagganath’s Temper (also remade into Hindi Simmba with Ranveer Singh) was a big success.

After successfully combating the Coronova, Vishal Krishna is back in action. His latest film is the actioner Chakra is being released in theatres this week. No OTT release for Vishal? “We were in discussions for an OTT release. But fans prefer to see their favourite stars on the big screen. They are disappointed when a big film opens on the digital platform.”

Vishal speaks of fighting the Covid19. “More than me, it was my father whom I was most worried about .We both pulled through. I was back shooting for Chakra. All precautions in place. We were a crew of 35 people, all practising the safety measures,” says Vishal.

“That’s how it is, and the movie industry needs to get used to it,” says Vishal. The star-actor runs an NGO which was looking after as many needy technicians and artistes as possible. “If there are Covid deaths, there are also an alarming number of suicides. It is heartbreaking to see the lower middleclass suffering so much. I feel really sad about the situation.”

In Chakra Vishal fights corruption in politics. “There is corruption and cheating everywhere. Even an everyday thing like ordering food at the restaurant , we get charged unbelievable amounts of taxes. Where does this money go? Today our money is being taken away without our knowledge.”
