The Jared Leto-led sci-fi epic, once anticipated as a visual marvel, is now struggling to maintain momentum as audience interest fades in its third week.

According to early trade estimates, Tron: Ares collected around $0.9 million (₹7.5 crore) worldwide on Day 19, showing another noticeable dip from its previous day. This brings its cumulative global collection to approximately $125.4 million (₹1,037 crore). Despite a strong start and heavy pre-release buzz, the film’s earning pace has significantly slowed down, raising concerns about its long-term performance.

In North America, the film’s domestic total now stands at approximately $64.2 million, while international markets have contributed around $61.2 million. However, growth in overseas territories has been marginal, with several key markets witnessing reduced occupancy and limited weekend surges.

While Tron: Ares has received praise for its cutting-edge visual effects, sleek digital design, and immersive futuristic world, critics and audiences alike have pointed out the film’s lack of emotional depth and narrative strength. Its high-concept sci-fi presentation has impressed visually, but the absence of strong character arcs and compelling storytelling has led to weak repeat viewership — a key factor in sustaining long-term box office success.

With a massive production budget reportedly exceeding $300 million, the film remains far from profitability. Analysts now predict its final run could end near $145–150 million globally (₹1,150–1,250 crore) — a disappointing figure for a franchise-backed Disney spectacle.

As Tron: Ares moves deeper into its third week, its performance serves as a clear indication that even the most visually stunning films need emotional engagement and solid storytelling to truly connect with audiences truly. Despite its technical excellence, the film’s diminishing returns show that visual spectacle alone can’t guarantee box office dominance.
