Vibe, the film starring Kunal Kemmu as the male lead and also directed by him, recorded a decent start at the box office. The action-comedy opened with a domestic net collection of ₹1.50 crore on Day 1, outperforming Kareena Kapoor’s Daayra on its opening Friday.
According to Sacnilk reports, the film collected the low amount across 3,194 shows, more shows than Kareena’s film Daayra. Theatre occupancy was just 14 percent, which clearly reflects the film’s performance.
The film, also starring Preity Zinta in a key role, collected 1.80 crore gross on Day 1.
Marking his second directorial venture after Madgaon Express, Kunal Kemmu’s new film received positive reviews from positive reviews from audiences and critics alike. Despite the good response, the film is struggling at the box office.
The massive wave of Hanuman Ansh and Mirzapur: The Movie is affecting all the new releases. Haiwaan, which released last week, wrapped up with a lifetime collection below 10 crore. The tough competition is also showing up for the new releases Daayra and Vibe.
Verdict
Vibe marks a slow start at the box office; however, the film’s trajectory depends on its first-weekend performance.
