Sushrii Mishraa, the actress and former Miss India United Continents titleholder, recently became a victim of appalling on-set behavior, facing disrespect and demeaning remarks about her and her religion. Without naming the production house or the project she was shooting for, the actress addressed the matter while choosing dignity, love, and humanity.
On Sunday, September 20, 2026, Sushrii uploaded a post on her Instagram handle with a big note, addressing the unpleasant experience on a set. Sharing the matter, the actress highlighted the unexpected necessity of speaking out, writing: ‘Never thought I’d address something like this, but here we are!’, but here we’re! Rab Behtareen Karega.”
Sushrii, who is the daughter of an Army officer (father) and a police officer (mother), credited her upbringing for her strong work ethic: “My fauji father and my mother who’s a cop have instilled humility and such powerful work ethics in me, and I carry that everywhere I go.”
Opening up on her disgusting on-set experience recently, Sushrii said, “Unfortunately, today I had such an appalling, toxic, and disrespectful experience on a set. I’m someone who believes in focusing on what’s important in every moment because life is short and there’s so much to do. But today made me address this.”
Without naming the specific production house or project, she revealed that the behavior crossed a line into personal bias. “I’ve never been on a set like this, or even been spoken to this way, where someone is making personal, nasty comments about me and my religion too. It was so ugly that I had to walk away to maintain my dignity. But this makes me wonder, what world are we even living in??”
Revealing she hasn’t ever spoken like how she was, the actress said, “I never have the heart to spit ugliness or toxicity towards anyone. Carrying the sun in my heart is the only way I know, and that how I’ll move. Moving with resilience, dignity, and grace.”
Lastly, Sushrii mentioned what her true religion is, being optimistic that the almighty will do better: “Love and Humanity is the only religion for me. Rab Behtar Karega. Aur Agar Behtar na kiya toh Behtareen Karega.”
Sushrii rose to fame playing Abhay Deol’s girlfriend in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Zero (2018). Later, she marked her debut as the female lead opposite Aayush Sharma in Ruslaan (2024).
