Disney’s Zootopia 2, one of the most anticipated family films of 2025, is moving forward with a healthy pace at the box office. After an energetic Friday, a stronger Saturday, and a busy Sunday, the film faced its first weekday test on Day 4. Mondays usually slow down collections for most movies, but Zootopia 2 has managed to keep a strong grip on its audience.
A Steady First Monday
According to early estimates, Zootopia 2 earned USD 21 million on Day 4. While the number is lower than the weekend jump, it is still considered a very good hold for a family-friendly animated film. With this, the total worldwide collection in four days stands at around USD 162 million.
Friday brought in about USD 38 million, Saturday jumped to USD 44 million, and Sunday saw around USD 59 million, thanks to families and kids packing shows. Monday’s number being above USD 20 million shows that the film still has strong interest and stable footfall across continents.
Why the Film Is Working
One of Zootopia 2’s biggest strengths is bringing back characters people already love.
Markets like China, Mexico, Australia, and the Middle East have responded very well. In China alone, Zootopia 2 has collected over USD 35 million in just 4 days, a strong figure for animation in the region.
European countries are also showing steady numbers. The UK and France together have added around USD 18 million so far. With school holidays in some regions, the film is expected to continue strong mid-week.
Holding above USD 20 million on Monday is a positive sign for its long-term run. If the film continues with similar numbers on Tuesday and Wednesday, the first week total may cross USD 200 million, which would be a strong start for any animated sequel.
Disney is likely aiming for a long and stable run rather than just a huge opening. If the film continues on this path, it may finish with a much higher lifetime collection than early predictions.
If the weekday momentum stays steady, the second weekend could bring another notable jump. For now, the film stands tall as a warm, colourful, and crowd-pleasing sequel that continues to bring joy to theatres worldwide.
