Raja Chanda has been a pioneer in Bengali film direction for many years. Having had a considerable background in advertising films for long in Bengali, Raja stepped into the feature film zone and is one the leading film directors in Tollywood today. Some of his works include movies like Challenge 2, Le Halua, Rangbaaz and Target: The Final Mission. Raja is one of those directors who has worked with all the leading actors of the Bengali film industry today, the likes of Mithun Chakraborty, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jeet, Bony Sengupta, Dev, Rukmini Maitra, Jisshu Sengupta, Koel Mallick, Nusrat Jahan and many more. After the success of his last movie ‘Kidnap’ with Dev and Rukmini Maitra, Raja announced his next titled Bhoy with Bengali actors Ankush Hazra and Nusraat Faria and the poster is trending nationally on Twitter.
When IWMBuzz got exclusively in touch with Raja Chanda to share his inputs on the story of the film, his actors and the experience, this is what Raja said –
“Bhoy means fear and everyone has some kind of fear or the other. We all go through it. Our film is about fear and the other side of the coin when it comes to fear. My lead actor is Ankush Hazra who is a swimming coach in the film and his goal is that he trains a national level swimmer. His mother in the movie is a cancer patient whereas his sister plays an autistic child. His family life is worth a lot of struggle but he enjoys it a lot. The family has a lot of fear regarding different things and the story is based on how Ankush and his family overcome their fear and conquers it with a sense of fearlessness. This is the first film that I have written. I wanted only Ankush for this movie and this is my first working experience with Nusraat Faria. We start shooting from 22nd of this month and we release the film next year.”
Well, here’s wishing Raja Chanda and his entire team all the best for this venture and here’s hoping the movie is a huge success at the movies. For more such exclusive updates, stay tuned to IWMBuzz.com
