We’ve seen our Hindi cinema heroes do it all, from thrilling vehicle chase scenes to high-octane battle sequences. While many actors use a body double for such scenes, a select few performers go the extra mile and do the perilous acts themselves. Here are a few Bollywood stars who prefer to perform their stunts: Akshay Kumar isn’t known as Khiladi Kumar for nothing: the actor isn’t afraid to attempt risky feats in his movies. Akshay, who is trained in martial arts, has often refused to utilize a body double, preferring to undertake numerous perilous stunts himself, earning him the nickname “India’s Jackie Chan.”

He’s also presented ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi’ for a season. Ajay Devgan, the son of stunt and action choreographer Veeru Devgan, has acted in his blood. He demonstrated this in his debut film, ‘Phool Aur Kaante.’ Ajay did a split while balancing himself on two bikes in his debut sequence. In his 25-year career, he has performed several perilous action sequences himself. Hrithik Roshan, who is famed for his chiselled frame and Greek God features, has appeared in films such as ‘Krrish,’ ‘Jodhaa Akbar,’ ‘Dhoom 2,’ and many others, and has done some death-defying action sequences. The actor was seriously injured twice while filming action sequences for ‘Bang Bang!’ and ‘Mohenjo Daro,’ which forced him to step away from the big screen for a period. With ‘Jism,’

John Abraham, who began his career as a model, made his Bollywood debut. The actor, who has one of Bollywood’s most chiselled physiques, is known for his on-screen machismo and prefers to perform his stunts. During the filming of his most recent film, ‘Force 2,’ John severely hurt his knee while doing a stunt, necessitating multiple surgeries. Tiger Shroff, who is trained in martial arts, has established himself as one of Bollywood’s fittest and most skilled performers. In flicks like ‘Heropanti,’ ‘Baaghi,’ and ‘A Flying Jatt,’ the child has performed numerous acrobatic stunts.
