Celebrities have been observed wearing more and more faux fur outfits after fashion firms began to embrace fur-free collections. Mega luxury labels like Gucci, Burberry, and Michael Kors have outright banned the use of animal fur in their collections, making it easier for some of the world’s most fashionable people to discover alternatives to real fur. Consider British singer Dua Lipa, who was recently photographed wearing a head-to-toe brown shaggy coat by Stella McCartney, an anti-fur pioneer.
Bella Hadid is the most recent celebrity to join the bandwagon. The model attended a Michael Kors party in New York City to start off Fashion Week. She wore a black faux fur coat from the brand’s Michael Kors collection for the event, which was exceptionally plushy and toasty. It proved that the days of unconvincing faux fur are over—in fact, it looked so real that it had me do a double-take.
She emphasized the striking piece’s ultra-modern look by wearing it with sleek, all-black essentials like a simple ribbed knit tank dress and fitting, below-the-knee leather boots. As a closing touch, she heaped on the gold jewelry. After all, it was a fashion week bash.
