The makers of Peddi, Ram Charan’s much-anticipated film with director Buchi Babu Sana, have already struck a chord with audiences even before the movie’s release. In a newly released behind-the-scenes video, A.R. Rahman and Buchi Babu Sana share an engaging conversation about the film’s first song, “Chikiri,” which is set to release on November 7, 2025.
The interactive video captures the beautiful synergy between Rahman’s musical genius and Buchi Babu’s storytelling. As Rahman curiously asks, “Chikiri Chikiri? What does Chikiri mean?” the director warmly explains, “In their village, the boys lovingly call out to the girls as ‘Chikiri.’ It’s a word filled with affection. From that emotion, a song begins.”
Hearing the explanation, Rahman instantly responds with excitement — “Superb sir! Very good sir, do this!” — marking the spontaneous birth of a song that blends local emotion with universal rhythm.
With a rustic yet vibrant tune and Ram Charan’s dynamic dance moves, “Chikiri” is already trending across social media. The teaser offers a glimpse of Charan in a raw, energetic avatar, celebrating love, culture, and the joy of connection.
Describing the song, the makers say that Chikiri isn’t just a melody — it’s a feeling. It captures the playful rhythm of rural life and the affectionate pulse of youth, showcasing Rahman’s soulful composition and Buchi Babu’s earthy narrative style.
Peddi marks another ambitious chapter in Ram Charan’s career, presenting him in a fresh, powerful new role. The film also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles.
Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru, Peddi is scheduled to hit theatres on March 27, 2026.
