Indian cinema mourns the loss of the cinematic legend, Dharmendra. In respect to the tragic loss of the iconic actor, the makers of Gustaakh Ishq – Kucch Pehle Jaisa have decided to shift the film’s celebrity screening to 28th November, aligning with the film’s release date. This decision comes as a mark of respect following the demise of the legendary actor and is a meaningful gesture by the first-time producer, Manish Malhotra.
At times when filmmakers often stay by the schedule of the film’s release, Manish Malhotra’s decision speaks volumes about the respect he holds for Dharmendra, despite Gustaakh Ishq being his maiden cinematic production. While the audiences and the insiders were eagerly waiting for the celebrity screening, the rescheduling has been widely appreciated as a thoughtful move at a time of collective grief in the film industry.
Starring Naseeruddin Shah, Vijay Varma, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sharib Hashmi, Gustaakh Ishq recently earned a roaring applause from the audiences, leaving them visibly moved during its world premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
Produced by Manish Malhotra alongside his brother Dinesh Malhotra under Stage5 Production, Gustaakh Ishq is directed by Vibhu Puri, and it unfolds as a poignant tale of passion and unspoken desire, set amidst the bylanes of Purani Dilli and the fading kothis of Punjab. The film releases in theatres on 28th November.
