The recently released poster of Aamir Khan‘s much-awaited Sitaare Zameen Par has indeed filled the audience with sheer excitement. Exuding joyful vibes, the poster also revealed that Aamir Khan Productions is launching 10 debutant actors: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.

Interestingly, While the superstar has delivered many blockbusters, when asked about a film that is his favorite, he named Taare Zameen Par.

Sitaare Zameen Par is a spiritual sequel to the 2007 superhit Taare Zameen Par. The film told a heart-touching and deeply inspiring story of Ishaan, an artistically gifted 8-year-old boy who is discovered to be dyslexic by his new art teacher, Nikumbh. The film struck an emotional chord with audiences and continues to hold a special place in our memories. In fact, it is also a film that is close to Aamir Khan’s heart. While speaking about the same, the superstar said, “I have done many films that are close to my heart. Lagaan is also very close, Dangal is also very close. But if I have to choose one film, I would say Taare Zameen Par. The reason is that it was a film that had a deep impact on our society. And across the country, it affected parents and children. Parents became sensitive about how they should raise their children, and it was a film that had a deep impact on children, on parenting, on parents.”

Sitaare Zameen Par is directed by R. S. Prasanna, who also directed Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, a barrier-breaking blockbuster. He also produced and directed On A Quest, a biopic on Swami Chinmayananda Saraswathi, the teacher who Inspired the formation of the Chinmaya Mission. Prasanna has consistently created thought-provoking and captivating cinema.

Made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, Sitaare Zameen Par will star Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh. The lyrics of the film are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music is given by Shankar-Easaan-Loy. The screenplay is written By Divy Nidhi Sharma. The film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, with Ravi Bhagchandka as producer. Directed by R. S. Prasanna, the film will release on 20th June.
