Rocking Star Yash believes Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups will stand out from the usual gangster dramas audiences are used to, especially because of the emotional depth and perspectives its female characters bring to the story. Speaking in an interview with Variety, Yash shared how director Geetu Mohandas’s approach to storytelling brings a far more emotionally layered lens to the darker side of human nature.

The actor emphasized that Geetu’s understanding of human emotion adds a strikingly different dimension to the film’s dark and intense world. “A lot of men have had the opportunity to talk about the gangster world or the dark side of humans. But when somebody like Geetu, whose take on emotions is very deep, enters that space, every scene takes a different turn.”

The actor also revealed that the women in the film are not merely supporting figures within the narrative, but characters with agency, survival instincts, emotional complexity, and power of their own.

“We have some female characters who are really badass women who have taken responsibility for their lives and survive in any situation. There’s a different kind of politics, a different kind of violence involved with every human being. So when you bring those personalities into the story, especially through the female gaze, it becomes very refreshing.”

Backed by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups stars Yash, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria in pivotal roles.
