The excitement around Ramayana continues to gather momentum, with the ambitious mythological epic adding another major milestone ahead of its release. Having generated immense anticipation around its music, T-Series has officially secured the music rights for both instalments of the magnum opus.
Industry sources reveal that multiple leading music labels were keen to bag the audio rights, making it one of the most competitive deals in recent times. Following intense negotiations, T-Series emerged victorious, acquiring the rights in an advance deal valued at ₹75 crore.
Sources, however, clarify that the amount has been structured as a refundable advance, making it a unique arrangement despite its massive valuation.
A close associate at T-Series confirmed, “T-Series has acquired the music rights of Ramayana. Bhushan Kumar and the senior leadership at T-Series are supremely confident about the potential of the film’s soundtrack.”
The associate further revealed, “As part of the arrangement, T-Series has paid an advance of Rs. 75 crores for the music rights. The amount covers the music of both parts of Ramayana.”
The agreement is among the most significant music acquisitions by an Indian music company and further strengthens T-Series’ position as the country’s leading music label. It also reflects the industry’s confidence in Ramayana, whose soundtrack has already generated immense anticipation, with Oscar-winning composers A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer collaborating for the first time on an Indian feature.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Conceived as a two-part cinematic event, the first chapter is slated to release during Diwali 2026, followed by the concluding instalment on Diwali 2027.
