The Conjuring: Last Rites Box Office Collection Day 4: Hollywood’s most-awaited horror film, The Conjuring: Last Rites, has made a great start in India’s first four days of its release. The film made a blockbuster collection in its first weekend; despite a drop on Monday, its total collection reached 55.50 crores.

The film earned 17.5 crores on Friday, with a major contribution of 10 crores from the English version and 6.35 crores from the Hindi version. On Saturday, the film repeated the collection of 17.5 crores; this figure fell slightly to 15.5 crores on Sunday. On Monday, the film earned five crores. Thus, the total net collection of four days was 55.50 crores.

This film is the ninth and last chapter of The Conjuring Universe. Its story is based on the Warrens’ (Ed and Lorraine Warren) real investigation of Smurl’s haunting. In this film, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga once again return to their popular roles. Along with them, Mia Tomlinson and Ben Hardy also appear in important roles.

The film is directed by Michael Chaves, who also directed the previous The Conjuring film. James Wan and Peter Safran have taken over production responsibilities.

The biggest strength of the film is its brand and the tremendous fan following of the Conjuring Universe among the audience. Along with the English version, the Hindi version also attracted many viewers, especially in metro cities and urban multiplexes.

After Monday’s decline, eyes are now on weekdays. If the film maintains a good hold in the coming days, it can easily reach 100 crore India nett. Such a strong response to horror films is rarely seen at the Indian box office.
