Throwback: Suniel Shetty Praised Salman Khan as an Actor, Saying, “If He Gets a Good Story, He Makes It Shine”

Salman Khan is one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema, having built an extraordinary legacy with a long list of blockbuster films to his name. Over the years, he has earned an immense and loyal fan following that eagerly awaits each of his releases while admiring his magnetic off-screen persona. His stardom and films continue to dominate conversations across the industry. In one of his previous interviews, his close friend and veteran Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, who has shared a long-standing bond with Salman, opened up about him, calling him one of the most misunderstood stars in the industry.

Suniel Shetty’s heartfelt words shed light on the real, grounded personality behind Salman Khan’s superstar image. He shared, “Salman is a man who’s on a different level; he is the most misunderstood person on this planet. Sometimes actors make mistakes in the selection of a movie. If Salman gets a movie on a good topic, he makes sure to shine in it no matter what.”

Suniel Shetty showered praise on Salman Khan, calling him someone who always goes above and beyond in everything he takes up. Speaking about Salman’s incredible box office power, he highlighted the difference in how success is measured for him compared to others. He noted that while most stars celebrate when their films earn ₹200 crore and label them superhits, for Salman, the same figure is often seen as underperformance.

Suniel emphasized that this alone speaks volumes about Salman’s unparalleled stardom and influence in cinema, saying, “People don’t always get him. If I had to sum him up in two words, they’d be ‘human being’ and ‘being human’, that’s exactly who Salman is. He’s a different kind of person, someone who goes above and beyond in everything he does… We call a Rs. 200 crore film of his a flop, but for most of the industry, that would be seen as a superhit. When he gets the right story, he creates magic. Even his so-called underperforming films earn Rs 200 crore. Compare that to most other releases this year, you’ll see none of them come close to that number.”

Salman Khan’s lineup remains packed with high-octane commercial entertainers like his upcoming and much-awaited war drama, Battle of Galwan, which has already set the internet talking and generated intrigue amongst the audience ever since the first look was out. A reunion with Kabir Khan, especially one involving Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2, could mark a shift towards the emotionally resonant storytelling that defined their earlier work together.
