Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn To Akshay Kumar: Celebrities Who Have Stopped Going To Award Shows

The term Nepotism has hit the Bollywood circuit in a big way. A lot of Bollywood celebrities talk openly about this bias prevailing in the entertainment industry. They have given their own proof to the matter and burning issue and have put across their thoughts clearly. A lot of popular actors in Bollywood have refrained from attending any award nite functions for this reason alone. We take a look of some of the actors.

Aamir Khan: Aamir was one of the first and foremost actors to have said a no-no to award functions. In 1996, Aamir’s film “Rangeela” was nominated for the Filmfare Award, but the award went to Shah Rukh Khan’s movie “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”. Since then Aamir has stopped going to the award show. He believes that people’s love and appreciation for him is the biggest award.

Ajay Devgn: The actor has clearly expresses his displeasure of being part of such award functions. In one of the interviews also he revealed that organizers of these events just want to gather more and more of a crowd of stars. Therefore, they will call you up and ask you to attend the event and in return will give you the award. And, in case the stars don’t reach even till the last moment, then they will cheat you up and in turn, will give your award to another star present over there. He has lost all his faith in such awards.

Akshay Kumar: He is another actor who believes that he does not attend such award functions for a mighty reason. Akshay claims that these “Private Award Organizers deal with you. If you perform there for free, then only you are eligible to be awarded a trophy.” Akshay in turn justifies that he considers taking a better fee rather than taking a trophy in exchange for his performance. Akshay further stated that he has been in the Bollywood industry for the past many years but he hasn’t got any award to date.

Sunny Deol: Sunny Deol also does not like going to the award shows and has abstained himself completely from going to these shows. His resentment started when Shah Rukh Khan’s film “Dil To Pagal Hai” was presented with the award instead of his film “Border”.
