Sara Ali Khan always wanted to become an actress, however, for she was weighing 96 kilos before hitting it to the industry, the actress used to always complain about it to her mother, and then when Amrita Singh advised her to lose weight. With that, the Simmba actress worked out hard for four months abroad and didn’t even video chat with her mother. When she came back, her mother only recognised her because of her suitcase, because when she came back she lost 30 kilos already.

Now the actress has definitely come a long way with her brilliant work onscreen. Her latest dance showcase and stellar acting chops in Atrangi Re got her immense love and popularity from the netizens.

She said, “I had PCOD. I still do. And because of that, I think I put on the amount of weight that I did.” Her father Saif Ali Khan cut in and asked: “It had nothing to do with the pizzas you used to have?” Sara continued: “Of course it was. I ate a lot… but I also did have PCOD which made it very hard for me to lose weight.”

The actress lost her weight when she studying in the Columbia University, she said, “It took me about a year-and-half to lose that weight. So, I completed the remaining two years of my graduation in a year so that I can return and start working early. I was always a chubby girl, but after going to the States, for the first two years, I put on a lot of weight and then last year, I burned all those kilos there itself,”

She said, that how the journey was never an easy one for her, “Jahaan aapko pizza milta hain, wahin aapko protein milta hain. Jahaan pe chocolate milta hain, wahin aapko salad milta hain (You get pizzas right where they sell protein, chocolates right where they sell salads). That was it. So, I lost all the weight that I had gained there and lots more by working out and maintaining a disciplined life,” as quoted by Hindustan Times.
