The South Indisutry’s prospects and success rate has been better than that of Bollywood in the recent times surprisingly!! While Bollywood is pressed hard under the threats of ‘boycott’ and its big ticket films not doing well, the South industry is basking in the glory of its recent big hits.
From the Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur starrer film Sita Ramam, to the Nikhil Siddhartha starrer film Karthikeya 2, and Dhanush’s Thiruchitrambalam have done well in the market.
So we now decode how big a success rate these films have had.
The production house revealed that the Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur-starrer has minted over Rs 40 crore worldwide in the first week. “Love is unstoppable,” read the tweet, along with a new poster of the film’s lead actors. It has also been reported that Sita Ramam grossed over $850,000 in the United States alone.
Actor Nikhil Siddhartha, whose just released film ‘Karthikeya 2’ has emerged an overwhelming success, on Wednesday announced that the film had officially grossed over Rs 100 crores, making it a blockbuster.
Thiruchitrambalam was released theatrically on 18 August 2022, to positive reviews from the critics with praise for performances of the cast and music. The film was a critical and commercial success at the box office.
