NCT has become one of the well-known boy groups of K-pop. But the group can get quite confusing with its multiple units, the members, and even their concepts.

NCT was formed under the label SM Entertainment. The group name stands for Neo Culture Technology, and the main idea is that they are a group with an infinite number of members who are shuffled into different sub-units.

As of 2022, NCT has 23 members; Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Kun, Doyung, Ten, Jaehyun, Winwin, Jungwoo, Lucas, Mark, Xiao Jun, Hendery, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Yang Yang, Shotaro, Sungchan, Chenle and Jisung. The group is made up of 5 subunits; NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, NCT 2018, and WayV.

1) NCT U:
This group is a rotational one and the members keep on changing depending on the concept. They made their debut in April 2016 with The 7th Sense and Without You. The lineup during that time included; Taeil, Jaehyun, Taeyong, Mark, Ten, and Doyoung.

2) NCT 127:
This unit’s name represents the longitudinal coordinates of the city, Soul, and representative of the city. The lineup includes 10 members; Johnny, Taeyong, Jaehyun, Doyoung, Taeil, Yuta, Winwin, Mark, Jungwoo, and Haechan. They made their debut back in 2016 with only 7 members with Fire Truck. This unit is one of the other ones that has traveled the most.

3) NCT Dream:
This unit is based on age. This group comprises every member under the age of 20. Once they hit the age they move into a different NCT unit. The unit originally included; Mark, Haechan, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung.

4) NCT 2018:
This unit was the name given for NCT as it existed back in 2018. The group had 18 members and they released their first album NCT 2018 Empathy. The album featured songs by each unit along with the group song, ‘Black on Black’.

5) WayV:
WayV is NCT’s Chinese unit. The group focuses on releasing music in Mandarin languages. The members include; Lucas, Winwin, Kun, Ten, Hendery, Xiao Jun, and Yang Yang. The group made its debut on 17th January 2019, under SM entertainment’s Chinese exclusive level V.
