BLACKPINK’s Rosé is a hit with fans of all kinds, including fellow celebs! She draws admirers from all walks of life, including athletes and fellow musicians. When other Western artists complimented her on her ability to master covers of their own songs, the latter took notice.

Coldplay

First and foremost, Coldplay, a British rock band, took note of Rosé! On their Instagram account, they uploaded a live studio recording of their 2008 smash single “Viva La Vida.” Coldplay complimented her voice and wished her a happy birthday. She does, after all, turn 25 on February 11, 2022.

John Mayer

Another artist who admired Rosé’s rendition of his own song was John Mayer. On the first episode of Sea Of Hope, she performed “Slow Dancing In A Burning Room” (2006). “This is wonderful,” he said, pointing to a screenshot of her performance. He was so pleased with the cover that he even handed her a pink electric guitar from his PRS Guitars collaboration.

Shakira

On JTBC’s Knowing Bros in October 2020, Rosé sang a version of Shakira’s most famous song, “Waka Waka” (2010). Shakira was overjoyed with the brief yet charming song, sharing the cover on Twitter and Instagram.

Alicia Keys

After singing “If I Ain’t Got You” (2001) on Sea of Hope alongside SHINee’s Onew and AKMU’s Suhyun, Alicia Keys gave Rosé a shoutout. The American singer reposted the cover from July 2021, along with four purple hearts and sparkling emojis. She also made sure to mention BLACKPINK’s official Twitter account.
