Fans already know how much CONNECT BTS means to the members, even though it has only been a few days since BTS launched their latest worldwide art project. Jin and Jungkook both discussed how the project would bring people together through variety, while Jungkook claimed it would draw attention to the connections between art and music.

Since RM is frequently pictured attending art exhibitions similar to the ones CONNECT BTS will be displayed, the project must also hold a lot of significance for him. Let’s look at five instances where RM demonstrated his abiding appreciation of the arts.

As befits RM, who has previously visited art galleries in London, the CONNECT, BTS series just opened with a show at the Serpentine Galleries in London. RM made sure to schedule a time to see London’s renowned National Gallery before BTS traveled there for their sold-out “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” performances at Wembley Stadium. Fans in London caught RM studying a famous Canaletto painting from the 1700s called Venice: The Grand Canal with S. Simeone Piccolo, which depicts the stunning architecture of the city using perspective, light, and detail.

RM frequently fits art excursions into BTS’s travel plans. RM published pictures of himself at the Metropolitan Museum of Art taken when the group traveled to New York City to perform at the MetLife Stadium last May. In his images, RM may be seen admiring a variety of well-known works of art, including Claude Monet’s Lane in the Poppy Fields. It appears that the Met was equally pleased to meet him. After his visit, they sent a tweet in Korean praising him for coming.

RM like modern art as well as artworks that have been around for millennia. He posted images from his trip to the Seoul solo exhibition Normal Life, which featured works by contemporary artist Kim Hee Soo, last September. In order for the viewer to visualize oneself in the painting, the artist draws common individuals without expression or personality. For RM, who leads a life that is anything but average, it must be a special and gratifying experience!

Without an art trip, what would an RM vacation be? RM took a break in Jeju and went to the Bonte Museum, which features both conventional and contemporary Korean arts and crafts. This remarkable installation, which is a small 4 x 4-meter chamber with mirror walls and ceilings, has crossed the world. The audience is positioned on a platform in the center of the water pool, with 100 different colored lights all around them.

Namjoon tweeted a picture of himself holding a sizable “moon jar,” also known as dalhangari, during one of his most recent art excursions. These enormous pots are much more amazing than they appear since each one is painstakingly constructed from two distinct halves welded together, using at least 40kg of clay. Kwon Dae Sup, the artist, had initially planned to be a painter before being suddenly inspired when he stumbled across an old moon jar. Aware fans discovered that their idol actually saw the jars in Kwon’s home near Paldang Lake, Gyeonggi. Perhaps RM couldn’t attend the artist’s exhibition at the Park Ryu Sook Gallery earlier that month.

Hopefully, RM and the other BTS members will be able to attend the opening of the Seoul exhibition later this month!
