The Bangtan Boys, sometimes referred to as BTS, is a South Korean boy band made up of seven members that were founded by Big Hit Entertainment. The name afterward became a backronym for Beyond the Scene in July 2017. They performed “No More Dream” off their debut album, 2 Cool 4 Skool, on June 12 to commemorate their June 13 debut. They received numerous New Artist of the Year honors for the song “No More Dream,” winning wins at the 2013 Melon Music Awards, the Golden Disc Awards, and the 2014 Seoul Music Awards.

With their subsequent albums, Dark & Wild (2014), The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2 (2015), and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever (2016), which both charted in the U.S. Billboard 200, the band continued to gain popularity. At the 2016 Melon Music Awards, Young Forever went on to win Album of the Year, which was The Most Beautiful Moment in Life.

Their second complete album, Wings (2016), achieved the highest chart position ever for a K-pop album as it peaked at #26 on the Billboard 200. Wings became the best-selling album in South Korea at the time according to the Gaon Album Chart. BTS’s first “million sellers” after selling over 1.5 million copies, the group was named Artist of the Year at the 2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards. The group’s subsequent album, Love Yourself: Her (2017), made history when it opened at #7 on the Billboard 200, the highest position ever for an Asian artist.
