Whenever one talks about devotional ‘Bhajan’ songs and iconic ‘Ghazals’, Anup Jalota’s name is a must in the discussion. His credible work folio has earned him the prestigious tag of ‘Bhajan Samrat’. He is also a Padma Shri Awardee from the Government of India for his contribution to Art- Indian Classical Music (Vocal) and a former contestant of the superhit reality show Bigg Boss. Anup is a maestro in the field of music and has been training many aspiring singers and musicians for the longest time. So when we at IWMBuzz interacted with Anup Jalota and asked him what he always keeps in mind and tells the aspirant singers, he said and we quote,

“See, one needs to understand that film music and classical music are totally different. Music in a film is not just the music director’s call. A lot of other factors are involved in it. But whatever one wants to sing, the knowledge of classical music is a must as it is the foundation for every singer. So, everyone, I feel needs to have the knowledge of classical music. After that, it is his or her choice as to what genre they want to expertise in.”
