1. He is the son of the legendary Sachin Dev Burman and Mira Dev Burman.

2. He has served the music industry mainly as a music composer for over 3 decades until his death in 1994.

3. Burman was influenced by Western, Latin, Oriental and Arabic music, and incorporated elements from these in his own music.

4. He is also known to have introduced electronic rock popular in the Bollywood industry.
