Jang Gyuri, the cute fromis 9 singer who gained prominence with the group, would no longer be a part of it as of July 31. The group’s current agency Pledis Entertainment provided some clarification on the new development by issuing a lengthy statement at the same time. The agency confirmed the rumour that fromis 9 had reduced from nine to eight members in a statement posted on Weverse. They said, “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the fans who have shown unwavering support and love for fromis_9. Furthermore, we would like to provide some information regarding the future activities of fromis_9.
Fromis_9 will become an 8-member group starting this coming August and will meet their fans in their upcoming Japanese activities and other various activities scheduled for the second half of this year.” Pledis continued, “Hitting on the fact that Gyuri will be saying goodbye to the group, “The fifth EP by from 9, “from our Memento Box,” will serve as JANG GYU RI’s final promotional endeavour before leaving the group. She will end her work with us sooner than expected on July 31 to start a new adventure.”
Pledis declared: “After much deliberation and discussion regarding the best course of action for each party, this choice was decided. To Jang Gyuri, who has done her best as a member of from 9, and the other eight members of the group who are ready to take a new step ahead. We need your unwavering support and love.” The reason for leaving the group is not known yet, and fans are wondering and sad to see the eight members in the group.
