Love, loss, and the wig she wore were all on her mind. Following her breakup from Liam Hemsworth, whirlwind romance with Kaitlynn Carter, and come back to music, Miley Cyrus didn’t hold back in her first long interview.

“I adore who I am right now so much that I’m not sure I would have been the same person if any of those things hadn’t happened,” the 27-year-old singer said to presenter Alex Cooper on her “Call Her Daddy” podcast, which was released on Friday, August 14. Since her surprise wedding to Hemsworth, 30, in December 2018, Cyrus’ personal life has dominated the news.

The couple, who had been dating for a decade before marrying, married privately at their Nashville home one month after their home was destroyed in the Malibu flames. Their marriage, on the other hand, did not last. In August 2019, Us Weekly revealed that the twosome was splitting up. Cyrus was pictured with Carter, 31, in the same month.

Before Cyrus was linked to Cody Simpson in October 2019, the two women dated for two months. While the twosome had been hot and heavy for ten months, news of their breakup came only hours before the singer’s podcast with Cooper was set to air.

Cyrus and Simpson, who have known each other since they were kids, “realised they’re better off as friends,” a source told Us on Thursday, August 13. He then congratulated her on the release of her new single, “Midnight Sky.” Cyrus says in the song that she “plays with both gender roles.” She was also in charge of the song video.
