1) Shankar Mahadevan
It surely is surprising to see Shankar Mahadevan’s name on this list. Just because he composes Rock music songs for doesn’t mean he is not in classic music. Since a very young age of 5 Shankar has been playing the veena. He has also Hindustani classical music and also focused on teaching classical music in his music school.
2) Zakir Hussain
Who hasn’t heard about the Indian table maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain? He mastered Pakhawaj at the age of 3 and late gained recognition as an Ustad of Indian Classical Music. He formed a unique fusion of jazz and world music-and further started his own band.
3) Bhimsen Joshi
The name itself is a brand in Indian classical music. He was also awarded Bharat Ratna for his contribution towards classical music. He was a part of a very famous music video, Mile Sur Mera Tumhara.
