After being snubbed for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, singer Sonu Nigam explained why he opted to collaborate with music director Pritam again. Sonu said in a new interview that there is a ‘pattern’ of having numerous artists perform the same song for a trial run before picking one. Sreerama Chandra, a vocalist who is 48 years old, was chosen as the voice of the song Subhanallah instead of him.

Sonu Nigam has sung hundreds of songs in a variety of languages. Subhanallah was included in the 2013 film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and was finally sung by Sreerama Chandra. The film’s music was composed by Pritam. Season 5 of Indian Idol was won by Sreerama Chandra. Sonu was a judge in seasons 1, 2, and 9 of the reality show.

Sonu spoke about his contact with Pritam a few months back, inviting him to join the cast of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. “Pritam, “Sonu, you are extremely special to me,’ he added quite gently. Because you sang at my debut, I have a particular bond with you. You’re a part of my first appearance. I hold you in high regard. I don’t want a song to be performed by several individuals and then one picked from among them, as is the case currently. This is the current tendency, but I refuse to follow it.” “This is why I’m asking you to be a part of a song that will be sung by no one else,” Pritam said. ‘Sonu Nigam will sing this song,’ Aamir decided. As the producer and celebrity have stated, “Let us let Sonu perform the song as well and then compare” will no longer be an option.”
