With hit Bollywood numbers like Sheila Ki Jawani and Kamli to her name, singer Sunidhi Chauhan’s long musical journey has only been a series of ups and ups throughout. Her powerful, high energy vocals have left many speechless. Be it Bollywood item songs or slow melodious numbers, she has slayed every single song till date.

Delhi-born Sunidhi started learning music at a very early age. Her father being a theatre artist, she always had musical influences around her growing up. But it was her mother who first suggested she pursue music. And soon, she was singing at local shows and competitions. With the encouragement from her family and her father’s friends, Sunidhi started considering music as a serious career option. As soon as she finished school, Sunidhi decided to discontinue studies and concentrate on her singing skills.

The family gave up everything and moved to Mumbai on the suggestion of actress Tabassum who spotted her at one of the shows in Delhi. Once in Mumbai, she enrolled with Kalyanji Virji Shah’s academy and soon became the lead singer “Little Wonders” troupe.

At the mere age of 11, Sunidhi found her first big break when she was offered to sing for the movie, Shastra. She later on won a reality singing show for Doordashan and was awarded by the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.

The true turning point in her career came in when she met Sonu Nigam. He recommended her to music director Sandeep Chowta. And within the next few weeks, the singer was signed to sing for a film and tasted her first success through it. From here on the only way was up for the singing sensation.

In her decade long career, Sunidhi has worked with some of the most prestigious names in the music industry including A R Rahman, Vishal-Shekhar, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Pritam. Big hits like Beedi Jalaile and Sheila Ki Jawaani made her a household name and since then she has consistently delivered chart-topping hits every year.
