Mariah Carey is recognized for her extravagant fashion sense. Fans were not disappointed when she opened the doors to her closet to offer Vogue a tour.

“I’m not as casual as most people, but I guess I could be,” the singer said at the beginning of the tour as she clutched a monogrammed Champagne flute.

Carey organizes her luxury heels by color and pattern on many shelves in her closet. She’s a self-proclaimed shoe aficionado who has a pair of heels for every event, including bowling. However, she claims that her slide sandals, of which she owns two pairs, are the most important.

Hundreds of bejeweled, glistening gowns are also on display in the singer’s closet, which is divided into many rooms.

“I guess I dress up a lot, but if I had my way I would just wear lingerie and walk around the house,” Carey said. She has two separate rooms in her closet only for lingerie from brands like La Perla and Agent Provocateur.

Carey, who has stated that she enjoys the glitz and glam of old Hollywood, possesses numerous items of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia, including the actress’s makeup compact, Golden Globes acceptance speech, and childhood piano, which she does not keep in her wardrobe.

Carey’s extensive purse collection, which includes a pink Birkin bag that was a gift from Floyd Mayweather, is another highlight of her wardrobe. She’s also a big fan of accessories, with over 15 pairs of sunglasses in her collection.
