Kailash Kher is one of the most amazing and reputed singers in the country. The shrill and melancholic in his voice is enough for everyone to get goosebumps. Some of his all-time best chartbusters include names like Teri Deewani, Govinda, Kaun Hai Woh, Tauba Tauba, Piya Ghar Aavenge, Yuhi Chala Chal, Arziyan, Jay-Jaykara, and many more. Such is his cult status that his voice in itself is enough to please music lovers.

Kailash recently released his new song ‘Yeh Hai Badalta Bharat’ which proves to be a fitting tribute to the people who made India proud at a global level across all sectors, starting from sports to science and technology, entertainment, and others. When specifically asked about why he wanted to have a special mention about Indian Olympic athletes this time, he was quoted as saying,

“Well, India is a country where the majority of the people are after job security. Most of them mostly look forward to being Doctors, Engineers, MBAs, and all. In a country like India, to have the guts to try unconventional sports and choose it as a profession deserves a lot of recognition. Irrespective of whether someone wins a medal or not, their hard work deserves to be respected and acknowledged. This song is my humble effort towards doing that for them.”

In today’s time, thanks to technology like auto-tuning and others, ‘singing’ as art is considered to be really easy compared to before. When asked to comment on the fate of genuine talent, he concluded by saying,

“Well, the best thing about our country is that it has an audience for all sorts of music. If there’s a section that love old ghazals and classics, there are also people who like rap and pop. That’s the beauty of versatility. Yes, I do agree that singers needing auto-tuning are also getting their share of the limelight. However, I feel that there’s no substitute for real talent, people surviving with auto-tuning can’t be at the top for a long time. More than this, we are a victim of consumerism where we try to create and sell only what works. There are people who are constantly making members of their own family sing and that’s how it has been going for a long time. Real talent will always be at the top. It might take them longer. But they will never miss out.”
