Tulsi Kumar says, "Every position I do in life is to make my father proud."

Tulsi has matured into a successful solo artist, shouldering the brand T-Series, all while being a loving wife and mother, after losing her father Gulshan Kumar at an early age.

Tulsi Kumar, one of the most well-known personalities in the music industry, has put another feather to her cap with enticing songs and funky remixes. For the second season of Indie Hain Hum, the singer has taken on the role of host for the first time.

Tulsi’s musical career has been nothing short of inspirational. She has matured into a successful solo artist, shouldering the brand T-Series, all while being a loving wife and mother, after losing her father Gulshan Kumar at an early age.

In the mid-2000s, Tulsi tried her hand at being a professional playback singer. “Mujhe Teri” from Paathshala and “Tum Jo Aaye” from Once Upon a Time in Mumbai are two of her most popular songs.

The 34-year-old is a real millennial at heart, ecstatic that the Indie pop movement of the 1990s is making a comeback. She said: “The 1990s provided us with a lot of pop icons to look at like Alisha Chinai, Lucky Ali, and a lot of new bands coming out in the 90s, like Palash Sen and his band Euphoria,” she added. The ’90s were incredible, and certainly, the pattern has returned, this time with a lot of singles.”

She claims that the increase in singles promotes independent musicians who formerly needed to be associated with Bollywood. However, independent music is increasingly receiving the attention it deserves. “Indie music is the way of the future.” I’m attempting to promote genuine talent. “I’ve always believed that hard effort pays off, and I’m grateful to have a platform through which I can assist others to advance their careers, and I’m all for it,” she added.

In recent years, Bollywood filmmakers have begun bringing back and remixing classic songs from the past. The tendency has sparked criticism on multiple occasions, with one part slamming songwriters and performers who remix these songs.
