Music is a journey, and vice versa, because if you know what songs to play while traveling, a journey can be musical. We’re sure you’ve got your own travel playlist ready to go, which you keep updated from time to time. These playlists are lifesavers, and I’m sure they’re your go-to Hindi travel music whenever you’re on the road, regardless of the form of transportation.

Safarnama (Tamasha film)

Safarnama, which means “travelogue” in Urdu, is a retrospective look at a bored and disillusioned young man who suddenly realizes the meaning of his life. When he searched inside himself, his creativity, passion, love, questions, and answers all took the form of a travelogue.

Dekha hai aise bhi (Sifar album)

Lucky Ali, an indie music pioneer, wrote this wonderful ballad in which he sings of his lonely journey while accompanied by the fuzzy visions of a particular one. Work that is trippy!

Kinare (queen of cinema)

A protected environment simpleton girl has a broken romance and is dumped a day before her wedding. She gets herself together and takes a solo trip to Europe, which was intended to be her honeymoon. This transformed her life, and she returned as a self-assured young woman who had already taken charge of her own destiny. This song is a collective ode to her energy, her vacation stories, and her redemption.

Journey (from the film Piku)

The song’s tone is laid-back, but it encourages us to hurry if going slowly is difficult and to stick to the otherwise fickle excuse in the corner of our eyes if we know what we want. It also sings of decorating the vistas with lush green for folks who have fled their homes, in Hindi and Bengali.

Musafir hoon yaron (Parichay, film)

This song must have the most direct connections to a traveler and his adventures. In the first verse, the poet declares that he is a nomad with no fixed address. He goes on to describe how when an old road comes to an end, a new one appears; how the road made a turn when he decided to shift directions; how the morning drew him in for a chat; and how the evening enticed him to another rendezvous.
