When the original song ,’O Saaki Saaki’ from ‘Musafir’ came out in 2004, it had Koena Mitra and Sanjay Dutt contributing immensely to make it a ‘cult’ song. 15 years down the line, when the song has been recreated in the movie, ‘Batla House’ with Nora Fatehi, Koena Mitra hasn’t taken it too well. In an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz, Koena Mitra strongly reacts to the new remake of ‘O Saaki Saaki’. Here’s what she has to say:

“My song is an iconic song. It was my debut film and it crashed many blockbusters. It is still a fresh song and it is not very old either. Music directors have become so lazy. They are just ruining old songs for nothing. I don’t understand why even 5-10 years old songs are being made again. It is so boring. I have been seeing this for so many years. I feel certain characters or songs which are a ‘cult’ shouldn’t even be touched.”

It is public knowledge that stunning Nora Fatehi is part of the new version. Talking about Nora, fierce Koena adds,

“Nora is a very good dancer and she is the only positive aspect about the whole song. I thank God that they have taken someone nice who dances really well. The song has a reputation and a separate fan base and I felt really disappointed after hearing the sound track. You just can’t compare the two songs. When I perform, people still request for this song. The soundtrack is a letdown for sure.”
